NEW HEAVY DUTY, LEVEL RIDE FLIPAWAY (HLF) LIFTGATE
FROM WALTCO EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS

(TALLMADGE, Ohio) - The new and improved heavy duty, level ride flipaway (HLF) liftgate from Walto Lift Corp is exceeding sales projections, since its launch at the end of 2010.

The HLF offers a simplified design and maximum performance in a variety of truck and trailer applications. It replaces the previous LPF level ride flipaway gate and has an increased lift capacity to 5,000 lbs., as well as standard capacities of 2,500, 3,000, and 4,000 lbs. The HLF Series’ faster operating speeds also increase productivity by 30 percent over the LPF.

“When you look at the HLF, compared to other liftgates on the market, you can physically see just how rugged and robust the HLF is. Its heavy-duty design, combined with its versatility, is what’s driving the demand,” said Scott Ickes, Waltco’s Senior Director of Customer Service. “In fact, we’ve expanded our production capacity to meet the increased demand with the addition of another shift.”

The simplified design of the HLF provides easier installation, as well as lower maintenance and operating costs. Key features include:

• Larger standard aluminum platform – 60” deep by 84” wide, providing 54” of useable platform depth with cart stops deployed.
• Industry leading, heavy duty, 3/8” thick, bolt-on ready bed extension with adjustable two-step dock bumpers and rubber pads to protect both the dock and liftgate.
• Simplified parallel arm, eliminating both the sliding parallel arm and springs, for easier installation and maintenance.
• Lift cylinders that store in a retracted position behind protective plating to shield them from road debris that causes pitting.
• Hydraulic hose protective housing to safeguard hydraulic lines from accidental contact and road debris.
• Lock valve to stop liftgate motion due to an unforeseen loss in hydraulic pressure.
• Proven, molded and potted toggle switch for reliable performance.
• External pump for easier access.
• Dual starter solenoids (one for raising and one for lowering) to reduce voltage drop for longer life and provide simplified troubleshooting. The motor is also thermally protected to safeguard from heat build-up.
• Grease fittings at all major hinge points for smooth operation.
• Nitro-hardened pins with increased bearing area for reduced maintenance and down time.
• Simplified rocking pivot hinge to reduce damage to concrete or asphalt that rollers may cause.
• Optional walk ramp that can be operated without moving the liftgate.
