WALTCO INTRODUCES INDUSTRY’S FIRST BIO-BASED/BIODEGRADABLE HYDRAULIC FLUID

(TALLMADGE, Ohio) - Waltco Lift Corp. has responded to customer demand for environmentally friendly products that meet or exceed performance requirements with the liftgate industry’s first bio-based/biodegradable hydraulic fluid.

Waltco is now a licensed distributor of Lift Lube™, a biodegradable, renewable hydraulic fluid, which was developed specifically for Waltco liftgates by Renewable Lubricants, LLC and Waltco engineers. This environmentally friendly hydraulic fluid is now available as an option in all Waltco liftgates. It is also available as a replacement product and is compatible with existing petroleum-based fluids.

“What’s exciting about Lift Lube™ is that besides being better for the environment, it outperforms traditional hydraulic fluid by providing increased lubricity, a higher viscosity index, low volatility, and a high flash point,” said Scott Ickes, Waltco’s Senior Director of Customer Service. “This extends the life of hydraulic motors, pumps and cylinders.”

Because it does not contain mineral oils, clean-up costs or fines in the event of an accidental spill or leak can be greatly reduced.
