WALTCO EXPANDS PLATFORM SELECTION AND BED HEIGHT RANGE OF THE E-RM SERIES FLIPAWAY LIFTGATE

(TALLMADGE, Ohio, February 15, 2008) Waltco Truck Equipment Co., the world’s leading liftgate manufacturer, announces two key updates to the Waltco E-RM Series. The E-RM Series, a Flipaway liftgate that is easy to install, operate and maintain, already available in 36 inch deep and 40 inch deep platform models, is now available with a large 46 inch deep x 80 inch wide, gently sloping wedge-style platform. In addition, all E-RM Series gates are now able to accommodate bed heights as low as 38 inches. The maximum bed height is 54 inches. The Waltco E-RM Series is available in 2500 lb. and 3000 lb. lifting capacities.

The new large wedge-style platform allows products to be moved easily and efficiently. A parting bar, along with dual torsion springs and a torsion bar, makes it possible to fold the platform with less than 25 lbs. of force. The platform conveniently flips away under the truck body for unobstructed loading access.

With the ability to be mounted on vehicle bed heights as low as 38 inches, the E-RM Series is an ideal liftgate for low cab forward chassis applications.

The E-RM Series also features self-lubricating, fiberglass-reinforced TeflonTM-coated bearings that eliminate the need for grease zerks. Other standard features include a closed-loop hydraulic system with hydraulic cylinders manufactured and tested in-house by Waltco, and hardened pins that reduce deflection and prolong bearing life. The E-RM Series also has a thermally protected power unit that safeguards the liftgate motor from damage due to heat build-up. This Electropak® power unit features an adjustable flow control valve and weather-resistant cover.

A powder coat finish on key liftgate components produces a high-quality finish that is exceptionally resistant to corrosion and abrasion. An optional steel dock bumper with rubber pad provides additional protection from dock and backing damage.
